OCCULT INTRAORBITAL FOREIGN BODY (Abstract): We present the case of a 32-year-old man, who was admitted in the Ophthalmology Department for ocular pain, palpebral edema and hyperemia and an inner angle purulent discharge in the left eye. A thorough medical history revealed an upper eyelid wound, sutured about 6 years before the moment of the ophthalmological consult. In an attempt to surgically evacuate the purulent collection, we found a metallic foreign body situated in the inner angle of the orbit. Imagistic explorations revealed a 106/13 mm metallic foreign body situated between the inner angle of the left orbit and right pterygopalatine fossa. Its removal was performed in an ENT Department, after specific investigations for establishment of the precise dimensions and its relationship with neighboring anatomical structures. The aim of this case presentation is to emphasize the importance of performing a careful and detailed medical history in order to establish a precise diagnosis and accurate therapeutic conduct.
