EMBRIOLOGICAL AND ANATOMIC DATA CONCERNING POSTNATAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE FACE AND MAIN VASCULAR PEDICLES (Abstract): Anatomy, as a field of science, a fundamental element of knowledge in biology and art, has almost reached the upper limit in description and interpretation. Day by day, its application and confrontation with medicine finds new extensions in people’s life. The vascularization of the viscerocranium is one of the most complex, hidden and in the same time most difficult to highlight, interpret and acknowledge its “normality” and “pathology” anatomical structures of the human body. The complexity of structures that take part into the formation of the facial skeleton and especially the multitude of its functions, crucial for survival and integration of the body into the environment (breath, mastication, deglutition, phonation, visual, olfactory and gustatory sense, etc.) require the presence of an extremely rich and diversified vascular support, which serve the elements of the stomatognathic system.
Key words: FACIAL SKELETON, VASCULAR ELEMENTS, VASCULAR PEDICLES, STOMATOGNATHIC SYSTEM
