POSSIBILITIES FOR RECOVERY OF FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY AND LOCAL ARCHITECTURE IN CERVICAL ABRASION LESIONS ASSOCIATED TO GINGIVAL RECESSIONS (Abstract): Restoration of cervical abrasion lesions accompanied by gingival recession is a challenge for the dentist. The key to achieving this goal is to create an image of the desired result and to establish an algorithm before starting treatment. An interdisciplinary approach (restorative and periodontal) for treatment of cervical lesions will create the most appropriate result from biological and aesthetical point of view. Restoration of dental anatomy is the first step in the treatment planning followed by restoration of gingival architecture with periodontal procedures necessary in order to achieve the desired result. The long-term success of the treatment is strictly related to the elimination of the etiologic factors, an appropriate treatment and an adequate maintenance program.
