THE INGUINAL CANAL, WEAKNESS IN THE ABDOMINAL WALL, ANATOMICAL AND SURGICAL CORRELATION (Abstract): This paper’s main object is dissection performed at the inguinal region of four male bodies to which I photographed the fundamental anatomical elements which participate in the formation and delineation of the inguinal canal. From these photographs in the present work we chose the most significant. To complete our study with detailed knowledge of the practical importance of this region, we showed in the photohraphs how to repair a direct inguinal hernia by Liechtenstein procedure. I photographed and identified all the anatomical elements, for example: external oblique muscle aponeurosis, reflex ligament, inguinal ligament, transversalis fascia, conjoint tendon, some of which are marked directly on the image.
