LUMBAR PUNCTURE, AN EFFICIENT NEUROLOGICAL INVESTIGATION IN MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS; RECORD KEEPING AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS (Abstract): The outcome of 38 patients undergoing Lumbar puncture (LP) was analysed between August 2009 and December 2010 in James Cook University Hospital (JCUH), Middlesbrough, United Kingdom. The study was initiated to evaluate the practice in LP and the results have helped us to implement the changes successfully according to the trust/national guidelines. The aim of our study was to assess the hospital’s performance against national standards and to establish the patients’ outcomes. Further study on patient outcome from LP (continuation of a previous analysis with larger data base) will be required. We are currently involved in collecting further data, working on writing the abstract for a future publication.
