ILIO PUBIC TRACT – REHABILITATION OF AN ANATOMIC STRUCTURE (Abstract): The ilio pubic tract, also referred as Thomson ligament, was described as a connective tissue structure posterior to the inguinal ligament. It is also considered as a thickening of the transversalis fascia which stretches between pubic tubercle and superior inferior iliac spine. We tried to underline this structure, which became an important landmark during laparoscopic approach for inguinal hernia. It helps delimit the triangle of pain and the triangle of disaster. It is prohibited to apply clips inferior to it.Though many doubt its existence, the posterior inguinal approach underline it’s presence and makes it an important landmark in the inguinal region.
