NOSOCOMIAL LUNG INFECTIONS IN ONCOLOGIC PATIENTS - DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING WITH PATHOLOGIC CORRELATIONS (Abstract): Malignant tumors represent a worldwide health problem. Oncologic patients with neutropenia appeared after chemotherapy have a high risk of acute bacterial and fungal infections of the lungs; pneumococcal pneumonia, infections with gram negative bacteria (bronchopneumonia and abscess) and chronic necrotizing aspergillosis are typical for oncologic patients. Physical examinations should be repeated daily, chest X rays and computed tomographies should be done in order to establish the diagnosis.
