RELEVANT ASPECTS OF THE ANATOMY OF INGUINAL REGION (Abstract): The surgical treatment of the inguinal hernia is one of the most challenging interventions because of the density of vascular and nervous structures that must be preserved. A successful result of any surgical procedure is dependent upon the clear understanding of the surgical anatomy of the relevant area, especially during a laparoscopic intervention. There have been described several danger zones in the inguinal region: the triangle of doom, the trapezoid of disaster, the triangle of pain. These areas are crucial to be known for safe and successful operations.
