MORPHOMETRY OF THE COMMON ILIAC ARTERIES (Abstract): Our study was performed on a total of 48 angio CT, following the length and caliber of the iliac artery from the aortic origin to the end and subiliac and medial iliac angles on right and left, according to the gender. The subiliac angle was between 19.8 to 75.9°. In males, the angle ranged from 21.4 to 75.9 and in females we found it between 19.8 to 47.4°. Note that in the literature are not quoted angles less than 60°. The caliber of the right common iliac artery was 8.4 to 14.8 mm in males, while in females ranged from 8.5 to 11.7 mm and the caliber of the left common iliac artery ranged from 7.9 to 14.7 mm in males and from 7, 7 to 11.3 mm in females. In 33 cases, the right iliac artery showed a higher caliber with 0.4 to 1.7 mm; in males were 24 cases with differences from 1.1 to 1.7 mm and in females 9 cases with differences from 0.4 to 1.2 mm. The length of the right common iliac artery was between 17 to 73.8 mm in males and 17 to 70.5 mm in females. The left common iliac artery had a length between 16.5 to 84.8 mm in males and 56.5 to 74.9 mm in females. In 22 cases, the right common iliac artery was longer than the left one with 0.8 to 19.1 mm, 20 cases in male (0.8 – 19.1 mm) and 2 in female (4.8 and 5.2 mm). The medio iliac angle was evaluated between 8.9 to 39° on the right, in males ranging from 13.2 to 39°, and in females from 8.9 to 20.7°. On the left, the medial iliac angle showed a value between 4.6 to 36.5°, in males with values ranging from 4.6 to 36.5° and in females from 7,5 to 21.9°. In 36 cases, the right medial iliac angle was higher, with differences ranging from 0.7 to 16.7°, in males on 28 cases and in females on 8 cases. All the evaluated structures were larger in male.
