MUSCULAR EVALUAŢION PRE AND POST SURGICHAL INTERVENŢION IN PATIENTS WITH TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT – COMPARATIVE STUDY. RESEARCH PAPER (Abstract): Total hip artroplasty (THA) represent a surgical intervention required to reestablish articular mobility and muscle, ligaments and periarticular elements functionality. The present work was performed on an experimental group of 19 patients, diagnosed with coxarthrosis and with surgical indication for THA, admitted from August 2010 – August 2011, and operated in the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Rehabilitation Hospital in Iasi and in Arcadia Hospital Iasi. Our study evaluates the muscular balance in the pre and postoperative treatment steps, defining the status of functional rehabilitation. Our study has performed a comparison among manual musdcular testing and more complex tests performed by Myotest Pro platform. We have shown that strict individualization of the physical therapy program, according to the functional deficit leads to rehabilitation recovery time shortening. The advantages of using controlled and active rehabilitation programs associated with a periodic muscular recovery evaluation are obvious; these programs are recommended to all patients that underwent total joint replacements.
