      THE IMPACT OF HYPOXIA OVER FETAL AND NEONATE BRAIN (Abstract): In spite of an improved understanding of pathological mechanisms, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) remains the most dreaded neurological disease of the newforn, Published data over the years show that a high percent of the babies who survive suffer from permanent neurodevelopmental handicaps including cerebral palsy, seizures, mental retardation and learning disabilities. In our study we try to correlate the importance of good prenatal care, high standards delivery assistance, early recognition of signs and symptoms, the utility of paraclinic elements, early diagnose and early treatment. We selected a great number of newborns between 2007-2012 and we compared a pannel of elements recorded in the medical documents of mother and child.
