FACE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES (Abstract): Face development begins late in the 4th week. The structure of all facial proeminences changes dramatically during weeks 6 to 8. In our Gross Anatomy Lab we dissected 7 fetuses aged between 4 to 10 weeks. We had the maternal assent for anatomic dissection of the fetuses. We underlined the frontalnasal proeminence, nasal placode, nasal pit, optic placode, maxillary proeminence, mandibular proeminence, both medial and lateral nasal proeminences, nasolacrimal groove.
Key words: FACE DEVELOPMENT, NASAL PLACODE, OPTIC PLACODE
