DEXTROCARDIA WITH SITUS INVERSUS – A CLINICAL AND RADIOLOGICAL STUDY (Abstract): Dextrocardia refers to an issue in which the cardiac apex is not on the left side of the thorax, but on the right side. The incidence of isolated dextrocardia varies from 1 in 31,000 – 37,000 live births, being more frequent in males then in females. Genetic factors are the most important in the dextrocardia incidence, followed by diabetes mellitus. We aimed to follow two cases of dextrocardia with situs inversus and also with the inverted abdominal viscera (female patient, 20 and 48 years old respectively). Clinically were not signs and symptoms that could put problems in establishing a correct diagnosis, because both cases were known since their birth as suffering from this condition. Also we have checked and compared the literature data on this issue with our presented cases.
